Planting Ground is a lake in northern Wisconsin located in the Three Lakes Township of Oneida County, bordering the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. At 1,010 acres, Planting Ground Lake nearly ties for the biggest of the 28 lakes that comprise the largest chain of freshwater lakes in the world. Boasting 174 miles of shoreline, this Three Lakes - Eagle River Chain of lakes spans over 11,000 total acres.
Many years ago, local Native Americans grew their crops and gardens near the
shore of the south bay of the lake. It was their planting ground. Thus, the name of the lake was born.
And so it was the Native Americans’ place for growing and sustenance. Today,
Planting Ground, LLC exists to give root to new ideas in a business sense.
The logo represents soil, roots, and crops... resources, ideas, and valued product.
The tagline, “Where ideas take root.”…something akin to how crops and vegetable plants first must take root.
